Specialties: Energy Modeling, Solar Photovoltaic Design, Battery Energy Storage, Microgrids, Energy Benchmarking

Jack Beiderman is a Senior Project Engineer with the Deep Carbon Reduction team at Jaros, Baum & Bolles.  Since joining the firm in 2020, he has worked on developing energy models using eQUEST (DOE2) or utilizing spreadsheet models to quantify the energy, cost and carbon savings associated with
existing-building retrofits/upgrades; supporting the development of calibrated energy models for deep carbon reduction studies; conducting Local Law 84 energy benchmarking and Energy Star certification; and analyzing how indoor air quality improvements will affect a building’s energy and carbon usage in light of the Covid-19 global pandemic.  Prior to joining JB&B, Mr. Beiderman worked as an energy engineer developing energy models for new-construction Energy Code compliance and LEED certification for multi-family residential, commercial, hotel, healthcare and education buildings.

Within the Deep Carbon Reduction team, Mr. Beiderman focuses on analyzing the energy, cost, and carbon considerations associated with savings opportunities within existing buildings. He supports the team in the development of energy models by leveraging project experience spanning a multitude of building types, climates and HVAC systems.  He specializes in distributed generation, with project experience in solar photovoltaic design and battery energy storage feasibility.

Mr. Beiderman holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Sustainability from Binghamton University.

Fun Fact: One of Jack’s favorite hobbies is music production. Using Logic Pro X, he can write melodies, chord progressions and drum sequences. If he’s feeling bold, he may even record some vocals, add an excessive amount of autotune and reverb, and call it a hit song.
