Kevin L. Adington joined JB&B in 2025 and serves as a Senior Engineer in the Deep Carbon Reduction Group, where he maintains a primary focus on decarbonization strategy and analysis in light of building performance standard legislation such as BERDO and BEUDO in Massachusetts and LL97 in New York City.  He has worked on notable projects such as the IFC Greening Real Estate Portfolios (GRIP) Program, NYC EDC Portfolio Decarbonization Planning Dashboard, Parcel 12 Office & Hotel, and the ongoing Channelside project in Boston, MA.

Prior to joining JB&B, Mr. Adington worked as a sustainability and building performance consultant, performing a broad range of work, including developing energy models in eQUEST for Energy Code compliance and LEED certification of multi-family residential, commercial office, laboratory, and hospitality buildings in Boston; developing hygrothermal models using WUFI Passive for Passive House consulting and certification; reviewing and consulting on decarbonization strategies of real estate companies worldwide with net zero in mind; and helping Boston building owners to prepare for the full implementation of the Boston Emissions Reduction and Disclosure Ordinance.

Mr. Adington earned his MS in Civil & Environmental Engineering at Stanford University and his BS in Mathematics & Environmental Science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is a LEED AP in Building Design & Construction (LEED AP: BD+C), a Certified Passive House Consultant (CPHC), and is a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and the Passive House Institute of the United States (PHIUS).

Fun Fact: Kevin had a secret third major while earning his bachelor’s degree from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill—Chinese Language & Literature.
